So Much to Be Thankful for…

First, I congratulate Caitlyn Gegen for her great win. We are lucky to have such a dynamic woman representing democrats in CD9. Go Caitlyn!

I’d like to say a BIG thank you to my wife Debbi, who was incredible on the campaign trail, and who I think is incredible every day of her life.

I’d like to thank my voters, my staff - especially Dee Daley, Tim Ranney, and Kim Spears.  I was also blessed by great volunteers, generous donors and Democratic Party partners in all 12 counties.

I came up short, but I am very proud of our campaign: our platform, our policy priorities, and our voter engagement. And how I loved the Q&A!

If I were younger, I’d try again and do many things differently, but I wouldn’t trade this growth experience, and the friends I have made, for anything. 

I will try to retire again, and this time get it right - at home. I have often said that running was ‘therapy’ for my concern about our nation. I need that therapy now more than ever, so I will stay involved with the Rabun County Dems - who are an incredible group.
