Making Life More Affordable—Especially at Home
The American middle class, once the backbone of our economy and the heart of our communities—is shrinking. For decades, it represented stability, opportunity, and the promise that hard work could lead to a better life. But today, that promise is slipping away. Too many families in Northeast Georgia are being priced out of their own communities. I understand that the cost of living—especially housing—is outpacing wages, and it’s putting the American Dream out of reach for working people.
Defend What People Rely On
In today’s tough economy, too many working families are barely getting by as shown by the fact that 70% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, I support strong, reliable government programs that ensure access to healthcare, education, and other essential services—because cutting these resources hurts the very people who need them most. We need policies that lift people up, not push them further behind. That means protecting access to affordable housing, expanding job opportunities with fair wages, investing in public schools, keeping our rural hospitals, and making sure seniors can retire with dignity. These are the building blocks of a healthy, thriving community—and they should be available to everyone, not just a privileged few.
Upholding The Rule of Law: A Cornerstone of Democracy
The rule of law is the foundation of a functioning democracy. It means that laws apply equally to everyone—no matter how powerful, wealthy, or well-connected they may be. When we uphold the principle that no one is above the law, we protect the integrity of our institutions, ensure accountability, and build trust in our system of government. Without it, democracy begins to erode, and the voices of everyday people are drowned out by those who believe the rules don’t apply to them. Defending the rule of law isn’t about politics—it’s about preserving the fairness, justice, and stability that every American deserves.

About Nick
Nick Alex is a husband, father, and grandfather with a lifelong commitment to service and leadership. He was raised in the Washington, D.C. area as the second child in a family of five, with two sisters and two brothers. Both of his parents were dedicated public servants. His father served in two wars and later worked for the Department of Justice, while his mother was a trailblazer in technology, contributing her talents to the Departments of Defense and Interior.
He married his high school sweetheart, Debbi, and together they raised two wonderful daughters. Today, they’re the proud grandparents of four energetic grandsons who keep them inspired and grounded. They've called Georgia home for over 30 years, spending many of those years in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Five years ago, Debbi and Nick made the move to North Georgia to be closer to family and enjoy the beauty and community of the region. They now live in Rabun County, where they found a deep sense of belonging and purpose.
Nick graduated from Virginia Tech University majoring in business and finance and entered the banking profession to serve regular people and families like his. As a banking technology product executive with Bank of America, Truist Bank, and US Bank Nick's work wasn’t just about numbers, it was about people. One part of his job he really enjoyed was helping businesses, whether it was a local shop or a larger company, get the right tools to manage their money wisely. Nick always had a strong sense of satisfaction knowing he could help them feel more confident and in control, and that their money was working as hard as they were.
Whether it was protecting people from fraud, improving access to cash, or simplifying banking technology, Nick always focused on making financial services work better for the people who rely on them every day.
